You can transform your furniture quickly and easily by White Washing. This technique is simple, yet very effective and will not take up too much of your time.

In our opinion, it is best to white wash on a pine, oak or bare wood piece of furniture - as this ensures that the paint can soak into the grain properly.

Step 1 - Take your Annie Sloan, Pure Bristle Paint Brush and one of Annie Sloan's Whites (we've used Old White).
Step 2 - Using a bowl of water, dip your paint brush in the water and then into the white paint to create a more watery consistency.
Step 3 - Brush the paint all over your piece of furniture, painting every which way to insure the white soaks into the grain of the wood.
Step 4 - Wipe off the excess with a lint free bed sheet or cloth. It may look messy but do not worry - once you have wiped the excess off you will see how the paint has changed the colour of the wood. If you feel as if it is too thick in places, just add a tad more water on your brush, wipe over the area and repeat the previous steps.
Step 5 - Wax to finish using Annie Sloan Clear Wax.

Top Tip - Use Annie Sloan White Wax over the top of your white wash to further accentuate the details in your piece of furniture!
Look how fab the finished Bed Sides are! As you can see, by White Washing them, the orange undertone of the pine has transformed the furniture into more neutral, farmhouse style pieces. This didn't take us long at all (about 40 minutes all together) and it has made such a great impact. Try it and see!
